History is filled with examples of the ruling class turning material wealth into symbolic capital—a tool to legitimize and secure their status.
1. The Power of Uselessness
In 18th century England, an aristocrat proved his supreme wealth not by growing more wheat, but by planting useless grass. This act of deliberate economic waste sent a clear message: "I am above the basic laws of survival that govern the common man."
The paradox is clear: the less useful a possession is for survival, the higher its status value. Rationality operates by different rules here.
2. From Lawns to Rockets: The Modern Translation
This principle is alive today. The forms have evolved, but the essence remains.
- Space Tourism & Life Extension: Investing in long-term, loss-making projects demonstrates a planning horizon far beyond the concerns of ordinary people.
- Conceptual Art Patronage: Supporting art that is inaccessible to the masses constantly updates the cultural code of the elite.
- Hyper-Philanthropy: Pledging vast fortunes to abstract causes generates immense social approval and symbolic capital.
- The Eco-Agenda: While the middle class worries about gas prices, the elite invest in "green" tech and buy vast wildernesses to "preserve." This demonstrates control on a planetary scale.
3. The Social Engineering
The most effective power is invisible. The logic of the lawn naturally seeped into the working class, especially in the US. The owner of a mortgaged home now strives to maintain his own useless patch of grass, spending water and resources on a ritual so familiar it's never questioned.
The English aristocrat justified his position by birthright and duty. The modern oligarchy legitimizes itself through the myth of meritocracy. Wealth is presented as a result of personal genius. Investing in space or AI is framed not as demonstrative waste, but as a mission to save humanity, available only to selected visionaries.
Demonstrative impracticality is the highest form of practicality in the struggle for status and power. Few realize that luxury is just one move in a game where the winner is the one who can afford to be useless.

Credit must be given to the Moscow Government—for the second year in a row, it has organized the large-scale forum and festival "Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030." Between August and September 2025, the forum's venues hosted 85,000 events, ranging from technology exhibitions to fashion shows. This demonstrates the authorities' desire not only to entertain citizens but also to inspire the youth towards self-development by presenting them with an image of the "human of the future": educated, physically strong, and proactive. This pursuit seamlessly integrates into the ideological framework of the Palladium social engineering project, which I sincerely welcome.
The effectiveness of these technologies is beyond doubt—and is most clearly evident in my personal experience. My encounter with the founder of the parkour movement, David Belle. Twenty years ago, his philosophy of freedom and overcoming obstacles opened new horizons for me, vividly demonstrating the capabilities of the human body and the power of non-standard thinking. He was not my idol or a benchmark for kinesthetics, but he made a significant contribution to my personal development, for which I remain deeply grateful to him to this day. A direct dialogue with David was hindered by the language barrier, but I managed to convey the essence of the Palladium comprehensive personality development methodologies through his personal interpreter. Palladium is destined to embed the image of the future human—educated, physically robust, proactive—into the foundational worldview of the younger generation. To pursue this mission shoulder to shoulder with the man who helped shape my own character is a matter of honor and a source of pure pride.
It is noteworthy that the incentive for self-improvement in sports and overcoming the impossible was instilled in him by his grandfather (in one of my publications, I describe how my own grandfather instilled in me a drive for engineering and technocratic optimization). This case once again confirms the theories developed by me and Kalutskikh on intergenerational continuity and the effective transmission of knowledge, which we discussed in detail in our interview.
The Other Side. It might seem that Belle's philosophy of freedom contradicts the idea of social engineering. But for us, these are two sides of the same coin: Palladium creates the environment and the tools, while the philosophy of overcoming provides the internal impetus for their use. We are not boxing people in; we are providing them with the right to choose and the opportunity for development.

A politician whose survival depends on ratings and quarterly reports is structurally immune to the field of human well-being. His KPIs do not measure the nation's health and, consequently, do not measure the real resilience of his power. For existing socio-economic systems, this is an unsolvable paradox; for Palladium, it is an Engineering Task.
Engineering excellence has been sacrificed to marketing cycles. This isn't a loud metaphor, but a stark statement of fact we encounter daily. Marketing has stopped describing product properties—today, it is busy encrusting the recipient's mind. It no longer informs; it programs: it creates faith where there should be a formula, it forms images in place of blueprints. The manufacturer no longer offers a product; it offers the Human a membership in a sect. And the Human, weary of the world's complexity, readily accepts this role.
Network companies promise adherents "secure devices with end-to-end encryption," although real security isn't measured in a marketer's parrots, but in the man-hours engineers spent on the code architecture. Automakers, having lost their engineering conscience, pitch "intelligence under the hood" to the car loan borrower. And here arises that bright Far Eastern melancholy for the 2JZ and 2UZ million-mile engines. Masterpieces of thermodynamics. Today's TLC flagship is eco-friendly foil good for 250,000 kilometers. Engine lifespan sacrificed to Japan's stagnating GDP. And the plastic Chinese... they deserve their own cage at the Moscow Zoo.
New residential developments strike with even greater charm. Developers feed mortgage users "a happy life in the comfort class"—but what does this happy life actually consist of... Stylized brickwork... :) A courtyard-well, fenced with a grating that from a distance resembles a pen. The entrance group creates an illusion of freedom, the massive door an illusion of security; and the "intercom" app is presented as a high-tech solution. Fortresses of low-density concrete crumbling in a draft. This isn't architecture; it's a fake facade: in exchange for thirty years of life, the Human gets a cardboard box.
What happened to the market? A substitution of concepts. Engineering excellence, as a manufacturer's moral imperative, has been sacrificed to the marketing cycle. Added value is furiously stamped out on semantic workbenches. The manufacturer couldn't care less about improving the quality of its own product: all that concerns it is matching the product's lifespan to the duration of the loan agreement.
Why does it work? The consumer has lost their discerning edge. Their cognitive resources are completely occupied processing information noise—the brain simply lacks the capacity to analyze consumer properties. The recipient chases the hype but doesn't understand the difference between a cast-iron engine block and disposable aluminum. They see "comfort class" in a brochure but fail to notice that their "home" is essentially a temporary structure pretending to have style. The strategy of "appealing to base needs" works flawlessly. As long as the consumer believes in fairy tales about a "happy life" in a concrete well and "intelligence" in a plastic cabin, the manufacturer will skimp on everything except the packaging.
Criticism for the sake of moralizing? No. Simply stating a violation of a fundamental law: the substitution of energy, measured in joules, engine hours, load-bearing capacity, for an illusion, measured in reach and likes.
The next work by the Palladium analytical department will focus on identifying the most effective manipulative hooks. Mechanisms of deceit where the product is merely an appendage to a pretty story. But our goal isn't to bring the 2JZ back to the assembly line. We set a more ambitious task: to design the E-Qual system so that the Human Development Index and life cycle energy efficiency become an unequivocal antidote to the economy. So that lies about "fortresses" instantly translate into a drop in the developer's credit rating, and savings on engine lifespan translate into a semantic entropy tax for the automaker. So that playing with illusions ceases to be profitable.
A considerable part of my childhood (the 1990s) was spent traveling across the Russian Far East. My grandfather worked as a long-haul trucker, and I shared his joy of moving through that magnificent land. The mountain ranges that crystallize the sharpness of vision. The thoughts that torment the twilight. The purest rivers that gather the spirit into one. I was fortunate to experience the beauty of such majestic landscapes—and yes, I am grateful for that fact. (Incidentally, a year ago I voiced excerpts from V.K. Arsenyev's book for one of the regional museums—those interested can check it out.)
But in each of these journeys, I also shared his gray-haired sorrow over the essence of what was happening around us. He was delivering across the region the light-colored sorrow of Soviet engineering—scrap metal from once-functioning factories. The industrial giants of the "union of unbreakable free republics" were erected according to the reinforcement frameworks of Gosplan and were not designed to withstand the encroaching chaos. The excessive rigidity of conservatism proved crystal fragile in the face of external circumstances. (At that time, the axiomatics of omega-systems, developed by the Palladium Institute of Applied Technocracy, did not yet exist.)
That feeling penetrated deep into a child's soul—I loaded into my subconscious the full weight of sorrow over that situation (I would present the full-format IMRAD with a solution to the issue only 30 years later). Hundreds of terajoules of embodied energy—from design logic and material production, to structural construction and equipment engineering—were being converted before my eyes into disproportionately small sums of monetary surrogates, instantly devoured by hyperinflation... The bitterest sorrow. But each of us goes through this to some extent.
The management of Palladium has decided to liquidate non-core Russian assets due to a sharply worsening tax policy. In 2023, we established Megalit Invest LLC to support our home region during an unfavorable period. Today, we are unable to engage in hopeless subsidies to the Federal Tax Service and are initiating the liquidation process. I personally launched every element of the LLC from scratch—from the initial documents to building a full-fledged document management system in 1C. From the first commercial offers sent manually to corporate automation of process networks. From individual pallets of ceramic tiles to tightly packed sea containers heading to Magadan. Selling a pristine company with a positive financial history (three years) at a price of 300,000 rubles—like trading a Toyota Crown Majesta for a tin of sprats. Utopia. A curly catechism of a bald semiotics of the saddle—incomprehensible and tasteless.
I remain, as always, loyal to my Small Homeland and will strive to act for the benefit of its prosperity. But today, the Federal Tax Service is filling the springs with clay (the very springs from which it itself drinks)—and "Megalit Invest" is forced to pass into history. A pure soul: impeccable accounting, integrity toward counterparties, calligraphy in the execution of every element—will become part of "The Emperor" (a manifesto on integrity and price). It will become a voice in a fugue (a treatise on demarcation, edition in D minor). And our spring will yet manage to seep through and irrigate the virgin lands of the Russian expanses. But that is not a matter for the current conjunctions...
P.S.: The question of the integrity of the beneficiaries of a bygone era remains open—do not be quick to judge them. Imagine for a moment that you suddenly inherited a magnificent car. It is impossible to buy gasoline, and there is nowhere to drive. Absolute lawlessness reigns in the streets—and they could even take your life. What would you do? I personally have no answer to this question.
2017. Three men—an engineer from the Russian hinterland, a financier, and a young technocrat—are observing a standard procedure for flushing a heat exchange circuit.
Across Russia, heat exchange circuits are cleaned with hydrochloric acid and toxic reagents. Once a year, a crew pours poison into the system, a substance that corrodes the scale along with the equipment itself. Then residents turn on the tap, and the first brown water after the shutdown carries the residue of these chemicals. It flows onto skin, onto dishes, onto children in the bath. This is not a scare story; it remains standard practice in the housing and utilities sector to this day.
Leonid Ivanovich presented us with an alternative scenario. The assembly of specialized equipment. The substitution of the reagent. Controlled multi-stage sorption under different temperature regimes.
And we brought this technology to life. After treatment, the circuit was not merely cleaned; it acquired hydrophobic properties. The scale lost the surface on which it was accustomed to growing. The next flushing was required not in one year, but in five to seven. Enterprise costs dropped by 60–70%. And no acid in the pipes that people use to wash themselves.
That is how LLC "Kemitechpro" was born. From 2017 to 2020, the team serviced boiler houses, proving the technology in practice—object by object, circuit by circuit. Every serviced circuit confirmed: the solution works, the economics add up, and the people are safe.
We saw with our own eyes: brilliant technology exists in the mind of one person, the economics in the spreadsheets of a second, and the strategy in the cognitive abilities of a third. To the market, the company is worth zero. To the bank, it's worth two barrels of reagent. Meanwhile, the real value—a method that saves the industry billions and stops poisoning people—is recorded nowhere, unprotected, and uncapitalized.
It was precisely this experience that purified my consciousness. I gradually began to return the vector of my own will from the political plane to the technocratic one—back to where the genuine began for me. To my grandfather's garage. To the dacha. To my engineering childhood... The first hammer strike bestowing upon the world the thermonuclear fusion of the Palladium philosophy. A strike that launched the cognitive reactor.
We were living through a situation typical of thousands of Russian companies. Here is what should have happened—and what we are implementing today:
The method of acid-free cleaning achieving hydrophobicity—a patent for invention. The reagent composition and the multi-stage sorption regimes—know-how under commercial secrecy. The database of parameters accumulated over years for various boiler types—a software suite. Three objects of intellectual property. Independent valuation, placement on the balance sheet, and contribution to the charter capital. Consequently, the company possesses a protected market position and capitalization, gaining sufficient weight to work with federal-level players.
The scale of the issue: An average municipal entity with thirty boiler houses saves 60–70 million rubles annually. A region saves hundreds of millions from the housing and utilities budget. And this is not a reduction in service; it is the replacement of barbarism with engineering.
At the foundation of "Kemitechpro" stood three ordinary men: a magnificent engineer, a competent financier, and a young technocrat. We solved a problem the industry hadn't touched for decades. In 2020, the pandemic served as the formal pretext—the company was flicked out of the food chain as the least ritualized link. Between the client PJSC "Gazprom" and the contractor LLC "Kemitechpro" sat three intermediary structures, creating the very ambiance of presence that we today call semantic resistance: parasitic links that absorb resources without creating value. A classic R in E-Qual terms.

Palladium exists so that a simple engineer from the hinterland has the opportunity to gain the weight worthy of his technology. Right now, at its very core, spark noble fury and a monumentality of will—everything that we are here for.
The Architect vs. Noise is academic non‑fiction that combines elements of a manifesto, systemic analysis, and a work written at the intersection of engineering methodology, political diagnostics, and personal confession.
The author, Anton Rusin, a technocrat with Far Eastern roots and experience ranging from fish processing plants to federal politics, offers not another critique of the present age but an operational tool for living in an era of total simulation.
The book is built around a central diagnosis:
Noise is the entropy on the path from reality to metric.
A diploma does not mean education. GDP does not measure well‑being. A subscription does not create ownership. Marketing sells promises, not products. A person stripped of real labour, ownership, and silence turns into Homo Arendus — a fragile being incapable of either resistance or continuity.
But the author does not stop at the diagnosis.
The fugue of the book unfolds four instrumental themes: Rusin’s principle (the range of any system = energy × conductivity); the neutron star (antifragility as the ability to shed periphery under impact); the dodecahedron (four layers of discourse — philosophical, methodological, ontological, empirical — and the prohibition of mixing them); tentacular thinking (the ability to hold multiple contradictory models without premature resolution — the main human advantage over AI).
Of particular value are the autobiographical episodes: the leap of faith of the 22‑year‑old Rusin, who abandoned his Vladivostok “empire” for Moscow, and the collapse of 2022, from which Palladium was born in its current form. The author does not hide the price of his own decisions — and it is precisely this honesty that gives the methodology its weight.
The cadenza — a philosophical intermezzo about death, limits, and acceptance — violates all the rules the author himself has established.
This is a deliberate gesture: at the moment of ultimate sincerity, methodology yields to voice. The book closes with The Integrity Manifesto: sixteen aphorisms about price, pain, and freedom as the ability to pay one’s bills — even when the bill is addressed to oneself.
Target Audience
- “Brilliant non‑functional unicums” (the author’s definition, §33) — people with high cognitive density who do not fit into corporate, academic, or bureaucratic institutions. Not the target audience: Those seeking easy solutions. Adherents of crypto‑communities and other closed sects (§17). Those who are comfortable with the “subscription model of life”. People with an attention span of less than 40 seconds (they will physically not finish the book — and the author states this explicitly in §1).
